In 2008, Jack completed the restoration of one of the oldest buildings in Columbia as the Wine Tasting Room. This building doubled as the Town Hall and the Fire Station. As you can see from the picture, there is a cupola on the top of the building. The cupola was added to resemble the original which was used during World War II, as men, women, and even children stood watch for submarines as they believed they would come up the Scuppernong River. The ladders which were once used in the fire station were kept and incorporated into the railings of the upstairs. In 2015, a Gourmet Foods Shop was added to the winery to enhance the wine and retail shopping experience.
